During the Leveson Inquiry she gave evidence under the name of Joanne Kathleen Rowling. She calls herself Jo and has said, "No one ever called me 'Joanne' when I was young, unless they were angry." Following her marriage, she has sometimes used the name Joanne Murray when conducting personal business. ![]() As she had no middle name, she chose K as the second initial of her pen name, from her paternal grandmother Kathleen Ada Bulgen Rowling. Anticipating that the target audience of young boys might not want to read a book written by a woman, her publishers demanded that she use two initials, rather than her full name. Mom later told me that it was the oil that kept most muffins from sticking to the wrappers, and I should have replaced the oil with something more like melted shortening or butter. ![]() I had just enough sense to know that liquid has to replace liquid, so I dumped some water in the batch. I vaguely remember you talking about cooking substitutes, but I didn’t pay attention-now I wish I had! Such a bother it was to realize that I had to replace it with something. I was in the middle of stirring up a batch of muffins when I used the last bit of oil, still needing another half cup. What I wonder, sometimes, is how I actually manage to create anything edible! Well, if you were as prone to disaster as you know I am, you should not wonder one bit. You with your few kitchen struggles, probably wonder how I can manage to make such a difficult task of it. Poor Mom has had to rescue me from supper cooking, so now my pains are limited to only those of breakfast and lunch, and only the very rarest occasion of supper. It has been a continual pain since I’ve started. ![]() I, for one, cannot in any way contrive to think that I love kitchen duty. ![]() The kitchen probably misses your cheerfulness too. I shall never, ever be able to forgive you for deserting us (or should I blame your husband for that?)! How could you, in good conscience, leave the kitchen in the hands of me, a giddy sixteen-year-old? I think my poor family misses you more than I do. ![]() ![]() Also, read what The Lesbrary has to say about it. The story is about Hannah and Baker and of them coming to terms with their sexuality. If you want to read a book that talks about friendships, graduating, and young love, this is the book that you must get your hands on. I don’t even know how I should begin talking about this masterpiece – This book had the power to make me swoon like no other. I stumbled upon wlw romance recently while figuring it out what it meant to me, and so I have compiled a list of some beautiful wlw books I read in the past two years, for all of you to kick start pride 2020 in the best possible way. I wish to be able to read every YA book ever written, but that is far from impossible – I know. I love it more than a baby loves their favorite sleeping position. I recently also realized that I have another reason why June is my favorite – Pride! On that note, a very happy pride to you, dear wlw books reader. ![]() June has always been my favorite month as a kid for two significant reasons: summer vacation and it being my birthday month. ![]() ![]() ![]() I should clearly not attempt an autobiography. If I had only to discuss academic principles. I should certainly like to narrate my experiments in the spiritual field which are known only to myself, and from which I have derived such power as I possess for working in the political field. ![]() But I shall not mind, if every page of it speaks only of my experiments. In Gandhi's own words: "I simply want to tell the story of my numerous experiments with truth, and as my life consists of nothing but those experiments, it is true that the story will take the shape of an autobiography. Considering that they traveled through the USA, there were plenty of moments for a paragraph or two of descriptions of what their surroundings might have looked like. The beginning was quite strong, but the moment our two characters left the military base, the world-building descriptions seemed to drop. The reason why I didn’t give it more stars is sole because I wished there was more world-building. There are many aspects that were really great and I finished the whole story within a day. It was lovely to see character growth between Danny (Daniel) and Wyn (Soul Eater) as they slowly discovered their relationship through the different situations they found themselves in. This is the first book by Lily Mayne that I’ve read, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! I really enjoyed the overall storyline and the variety of characters. ![]() |
